Teaching and Planning Primary Art and Design

Teaching and Planning Primary Art and Design

13 FebruaryFeb 2020 10:00 - 15:00 UTC

'Feeling incredibly inspired after a fantastic course. The content couldn't have been any more useful and Emily's obvious first hand experience just enhanced all of this.'

This course comes highly recommended by past attendees and will fully support you in leading, planning and teaching the subject of Art and Design at primary level. It takes into account the 2019 Ofsted framework for inspections and foundation subject deep dives.

Gain insights into how you can refine the intention of your art provision so that it meets and exceeds National Curriculum requirements. Learn ways that your curriculum intent can be easily communicated and presented, including through your long and medium term planning documents.

Understand how you can plan for progression in skills & knowledge, and create a well-sequenced and enriching art curriculum. Be inspired in ways you can develop or refine your curriculum so that it includes a range of culturally, geographically and ethnically diverse art and artists, as well as artists who work within a range of themes and materials; so that all learners feel represented and the curriculum is relevant and well-rounded.

Learn how you can implement and teach an art curriculum that ensures that the children you teach feel engaged, inspired and challenged. Explore ways to teach skills, discuss art and put into effect genuinely useful teacher, self and peer assessment methods. Discover ways to ensure and evidence that your pupils are happy, confident learners by embedding pupil voice and portfolio/sketchbook presentation into your provision - so you can easily evidence the impact of your Art and Design provision.

A mix of practical and theoretically based training: You will leave feeling inspired to lead, teach and present your Primary Art and Design provision.

There are very limited spaces in order to ensure a small group with plenty of one-to-one support; you will return to school raring to go!

The venue is set within an inspiring creative space full of art & craft materials - London's biggest art store, CASS Art set in the beautiful area of Islington.

'Great subject knowledge and Emily was able to give real life examples of what she had done when answering any questions asked. Emily was so warm, friendly, open to questions, informative and inspiring.'
