Teacher Day 2020: Heroism in the Ancient World

Teacher Day 2020: Heroism in the Ancient World

05 FebruaryFeb 2020 11:00 - 16:30 UTC

The course will provide an opportunity to anyone teaching subjects related to classical Greece and Rome (for GCSE, A-level or IB), be it for ancient Greek, Latin, Classical Civilisation or Ancient History, to brush up on the latest research on the day’s topic in the fields of literature, history and archaeology. Experts from University College London and the British School at Athens will offer lectures and seminars on various aspects of ‘heroism in the ancient world’. There will be the chance to speak to university lecturers and staff from the British School at Athens informally during breaks.

Thanks to the generosity of the A. G. Leventis Foundation attendance is free (including tea, coffee, light sandwich lunch), and the event is open to all teachers at secondary schools, PGCE students, and PhD students interested in a career in secondary-school teaching.
