Primary Programming and Algorithm

Primary Programming and Algorithm

11 MarchMar 2020 13:00 - 16:30 UTC

Programming and algorithms are fundamental to the primary computing curriculum. Algorithms are clear and unambiguous instructions to solve problems which can often be translated using a programming language for a computer to follow.

During this course, you will discover engaging and effective ways to help children use computational thinking. We will equip you to develop your students knowledge of how technology works, and the skills to make computers follow instructions in simple programs.

We will show you different teaching techniques to improve how your school delivers lessons that use algorithms and programming. We will also provide resources that you can use to understand, plan and teach computing and we will cover what computational thinking is and how it affects teaching programming.

This course is suitable for primary teachers.

Please note - There is one free place for each school at no cost. It is £350 for unlimited courses throughout the year (per person), with additional members of staff being able to attend for £45. Although the cost is listed for free, if you attend additional courses, you will be charged accordingly.
